CONTRACT TERMINATION EXPERIENCE SINCE 2012

Tough contracts. Experienced support.

Since 2012, Kubiak Enterprise has helped clients navigate challenging contracts and pursue a path forward. We bring that contract termination experience to homeowners seeking options for their solar agreements.

You may be paying more than expected, waiting for a working system, or struggling to get answers. We start by understanding what you signed, what happened, and what you want to resolve.

  • Unexpected costs

Financing fees, payment increases, or ongoing utility bills that differ from the sales presentation.

  • Installation or performance problems

An unfinished installation, a system that isn't operating, or unresolved service concerns.

  • Promises and paperwork that don't align

Pressure to sign, unclear terms, or written agreements that differ from what you were told.

  • Questions about moving or canceling

Unclear transfer requirements, early termination charges, or obligations when selling your home.

START WITH WHAT YOU SIGNED

Different agreements. Different questions.

A solar project can involve more than one company and more than one contract. Knowing which documents apply helps make the conversation more useful. Include each agreement, even if a different company now handles your payments or service requests.

PURCHASE & FINANCING

Solar installation and loans

Your installation agreement describes the work and equipment. A separate loan may set the repayment terms. Keep both documents together, including any changes or disclosures.

USE OF THE SYSTEM

Solar leases

A lease generally lets you use a system owned by another company. Payment increases, maintenance responsibilities, transfer terms, and early termination provisions deserve attention.

PURCHASE OF THE POWER

Power purchase agreements

A PPA sets terms for buying the electricity the system produces. The energy rate, scheduled increases, performance provisions, and length of the agreement help explain your obligations.

MAKE THE FIRST CONVERSATION COUNT

Bring your questions.
Gather the details.

Tell us what you expected, what has happened, and what you would like to resolve. Include the names of your installer, lender, or leasing company and whether your system is operating.

A short timeline can help connect the original sales conversation with the paperwork, installation, payments, and attempts to get help. Note the dates you signed, when work began, and when you first contacted the company about the problem.

Documents worth having ready

  • Signed installation, financing, lease, or PPA documents, including amendments.
  • Sales proposals and written promises about costs, savings, or performance.
  • Recent solar payment statements and relevant utility bills.
  • Installation records, service requests, and photos of unresolved problems.
  • Emails, texts, and cancellation or transfer correspondence.

You can begin with what you have. Mention any documents you are still trying to obtain.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Understanding your next steps.

Can every solar contract be canceled?

No. Possible options depend on the agreement, the circumstances of the sale, the work performed, and applicable law. A concern about cost or performance does not, by itself, establish a right to cancel.

Does canceling an installation contract also cancel the loan?

Not necessarily. Installation and financing can be separate agreements with different companies. Both need attention when considering an exit, including any continuing payment obligations.

Does it matter if my panels are already installed?

Yes. Whether the system is installed, connected, and operating helps define the situation. Keep records of installation dates, inspections, service requests, and any unresolved issues.

How long does a solar contract exit take?

There is no single timeline. The documents, issues involved, and responses from the companies affect the next steps. An initial conversation is a place to explain your situation and ask what further review may involve.
